COVID-19 Test & Stay Program Information and Consent Form

COVID-19 Test & Stay Program Information and Consent Form

December 6, 2021

Dear Randolph Public School Families,

Back in early Fall we announced the kick off of our COVID-19 Test & Stay program per MA DESE & MDPH guidelines.   The Program has been very successful and has allowed many students to remain in school even when they are identified as a close contact.

Consider taking five (5) minutes today to sign the online consent form for your child to make the process more efficient in the future, should the need arise.

Sign the consent for your child(ren)by clicking below:

The purpose of this program 1.) to provide an  extra layer of protection to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our school community, and 2.) to reduce the amount of time out of school for students who are labeled as close contacts in school.

Who can participate in Test & Stay?
Randolph Public School students who:

  1. have been labeled a close contact of a person positive for COVID-19 while at school and are subject to quarantine (i.e. not vaccinated)
  2. are not experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19
  3. has a signed consent form on file with the district

What is Test & Stay?
The Test & Stay program is for when an individual has been in close contact with a COVID-19 positive individual while at school.  With this method of testing, a BinaxNOW Rapid Antigen test would be administered to the potentially exposed individual for 5 consecutive school days. The student can safely remain in school following each negative BinaxNOW test result. If a test does come back positive, that individual will be required to follow up with a PCR COVID-19 Test.

Why participate in Test & Stay?
Instead of having to quarantine and miss school time, students who participate and have a negative test result will not have to miss school.

What about close contacts at home?
Students who are labeled a close contact to a positive person at home/outside of school are not eligible for the Test & Stay program, per MA DESE and MDPH regulations.
