• Welcome to 5th Grade!

  • Welcome to 5th Grade!

I hope that you all have a restful summer and enjoy some quality family time!  Attached is the supply list you will need at the beginning of the school year.  Please make sure that you come prepared on the first day of school!  Also, keep your eyes peeled for sales throughout the summer at stores such as Target, Walmart and Staples.

    Supply List
Each student should have the following:

    3 notebooks
    3 folders
    Pencils (no mechanical pencils please)
    Pens
    Colored pencils
    Thin markers
    Pencil sharpener
    Scissors

    Glue sticks
    Post-it notes
    Highlighters (multi-colored)
    Index Cards
White Board Marker and personal eraser
Pencil box/pouch (to hold all supplies)
    Headphones

    Donations for the classroom:
    Paper Towels
    Whiteboard markers
    Wipes
    Pencils
    Tissues

Over the summer it is extremely important to spend some time reading books of your choice every day!  You may not think that we can tell that you have read when you come back, but we can!  Also, you should already be 100% fluent in your basic math facts (1-12 addition/subtraction and multiplication/division).  Use flashcards, Reflexmath, or any app online that focus on math facts.  This is a third grade standard (and honestly, math will be a lot easier for you next year if you know your facts!).

We look forward to seeing you all on the first day of school!

    See you soon,
    Mrs. Frattasio

  • Dear Parents/Guardians and Future 5th Graders,

Welcome to 5th Grade in Room 116!

My name is Christina McCabe and I am so excited to be your teacher this year! This is my 9th year teaching and my 5th year at Donovan. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending my time with my family. I have a son named Jack who was born in March 2022 and I love spending time with him and watching him grow and learn new things! I cannot wait to share this school year with you!

My name is Laura Corbett, and I am so excited for the upcoming school year! Even though this is only my third year teaching at the Donovan School, it is my 7th year teaching in Randolph and my 16th year as a teacher! I have a 9 year old dog named Bailey (I promise to show you some pictures!) and love spending time outside with her. If I’m not playing with Bailey, I am relaxing and reading in my backyard. One of my favorite foods is pizza, and I make my own pizza at least once a week! What’s your favorite pizza topping? Anyway, I can’t wait to share some of my favorite books with you and help you grow as a reader and as a team player!
