    Family Success Partnership

A Family Support Counselor uses creative and collaborative solutions to help children
succeed by guiding and supporting the entire family. This may include assisting the
family with supports for the adults or other children in the home. Support is individually
tailored to each family based on student and family goals, with FSP counselors meeting
families at their level of need, whether it be supporting follow-through of goals, filling the
counseling gap while on outpatient therapy waitlists, providing parent training, or helping
to bridge home-school communication and relationships.
FSP counselors extend their work with parents and families beyond the boundaries of
the school, often into families' homes and their community. They work directly with
families and the school team, facilitating awareness of and access to professional
resources, state agencies, and informal community supports.
Families are referred to FSP by school personnel. Participation is voluntary and free to
    families.
