This Wednesday, March 4, is an Early Release Day for Randolph schools. The High School will dismiss at 11:00; the middle school at 11:02, and the Elementary schools at 11:55. Please make the necessary arrangements for your children. Thank You.

Dear Randolph Public Schools' Families and Community,


We welcomed the summer-like days of September, but now, like many of you I’m thinking – enough already with the snow.  Should there be no additional snow days or modifications to the school calendar, our last day of school for students will be June 25 (a change from the original date of June 15).  We have, therefore, only 3 days remaining to complete the required 180 instructional days by June 30, and the wintery month of March still looms.


We are all deeply concerned about the recent interruption to student learning because of the weather.  Moving forward it will require some creativity and flexibility as we investigate a combination of the following possible options to complete the 180 days:


Ø  Saturdays (half-days)


Ø  Class on Good Friday (April 3 – half-day)


Ø  Classes during April Break


Ø  Converting selected half-day professional days to full days


 Over the past couple of weeks I’ve engaged parents, the PTO Council, REA leadership, and district administrators and principals to discuss possible options.  Collective feedback is critical as we work to devise the most appropriate plan to address the impact that the snow days have had on the teaching and learning process. 


Your understanding is appreciated as we work through these weather challenges together.

Educational Facilities Plan (Master Plan)

In spring/summer of 2011, the Town Council set aside funds to review our current school and town facilities.  After receiving community input, an Educational Facilities Plan (Master Plan) was created with the help of a Master Plan Sub-committee.  At this time, we again want to ensure the community is thoroughly engaged and participates in reviewing the plan.  This will assist in determining the next steps.  Please see the attached document as well as the full 456 page Master Plan.

This is a message from the Office of the Supt. of Randolph Public Schools with important health information about the Enterovirus; cases of the virus have been confirmed in Massachusetts. 

Symptoms can include fever, runny nose, sneezing, coughing, and body aches, but not necessarily all of these symptoms. We each need to take precautions to minimize the spread of both Enterovirus and flu. 

It is recommended that parents and caregivers have their children with respiratory illness remain home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours to lessen spreading of the illness. You should also seek medical care immediately.

We have gotten off to an excellent start this year and with your support the excitement and progress will continue. I wanted to remind parents that last spring it was decided that we would use the Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®). The MAP assessments will assist in determining your child’s instructional level and measure their academic growth in reading and math throughout the school year and from year to year. Students will be assessed on the computer four times per year in grades K-11. Click here for full text.​
